RULES - Shadowater - 11-06-2006

Note: "The forums" refer to the whole of Pokemon Enasu.
A "Forum" refers to a specific forum, such as the General Announcements
forum, or the Greetings Forum.

The Rules are in this Format:

#) Rule - Information about rule
#.#) A sub-section pertaining to a certain part of the rule
SEVERITY: How harsh the punishment is

1) Posting off topic -
1.1)When you make a Thread, you must place it in the appropriate section. Each forum has specific guidelines pertaining to what you can and cannot post in that forum, and should be read carefully before posting or replying in that forum.
1.2) When replying to an already existing thread, please keep in mind that your reply must relate to the topic that was specified by the starter of the thread. Bearing this in mind, it may be slightly unrelated, then another person may make a slightly unrelated comment about that reply, as long as it still contributes to the original topic. If a subdisscussion is started within the thread, then might I suggest starting another thread based on the subdisscusion, then replying in the subdisscussion that you made a thread pertaining to it.
SEVERITY: Very Low

2) Bumping - This is when you post in an outdated thread.
2.1) An outdated thread is a thread that discusses a long-past event where there is nothing else to talk about. It also includes threads that haven't had a reply in more than a month or two.
2.2) This does NOT apply to the following: Polls, Threads that ask a simple question that applies to all that post in it, or Threads where the replies address the thread starter and not other members that have already posted in it.
SEVERITY: Low, Thread is locked

3) Advertising -
3.1) Posting a Link to a website and/or Forums is permitted only if the link is the focus of the Topic, or contributes to the Topic.
3.2) You are allowed to start a thread that advertises your own website and/or forum is permitted only in the Advertisements Forum.
3.3) You may not, under ANY circumstances, PM for the sole purpose of advertising your website or Forums.
SEVERITY: Low, Thread is deleted

4) Flaming - Flaming includes, but is not limited to: All hurtful comments about fellow members, slandering, and excessive bashing of a tv show, celebrity, character, a Pokemon, ect.
SEVERITY: High, Thread/post is deleted

5) Swearing - Swearing is allowed, but not in excessive amounts. Futhermore, you are not allowed to try and evade the automatic censoring, except in Fan Fictions, where you must place an appropriate rating on the story/chapter. If used in a hurtful way towards another living being, it will be counted as flaming and dealt with accordingly.
SEVERITY: Low, Offensive language is edited out

6) Spam -
6.1) Double posting, where you post immediatly after another one of your posts, is considered as spam. This is because you are able to edit your previous post if you wanted to add something. The exception to this is when the thread is owned by you and will be updated and maintained by you. then, in the case when nobody has placed a response to it, you may post in it again.
6.2) Double posting is allowed in another persons thread if it is in fan art that is placed in its appropriate section, as long as the thread starter allows it.
6.3) A post is considered spam if it has no significance to the thread. If a fellow memeber asks a simple question, and it is already answered, then do not post a reply to the question unless you feel that you must clarify the answer or correct it.
6.4) A thread is spam if it contains no actual topic of disscussion for fellow members.
6.5) A post is spam if it is exclusively directed at another member, and contains nothing of intrest for other members. This is why they invented Private Messaging.
SEVERITY: Medium, Deletion of Thread or Post

7) Page-Stretching - This causes the screen to need a horizontal scroll bar to view everything, which is quite annoying.
7.1) Do NOT excessively lengthen a word (E.G. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH...), causing a horizontal scrollbar to appear on some resolutions.
7.2) Do not place rows of images without spaces. This can also cause Ppage-stretching. Put a space between each image. After all, it's better to stack (to a certain extent) then it is to stretch!
SEVERITY: Low, Post edited

8) Adult Material - Adult material is NOT and I repeat, NOT allowed on Pokemon Enasu WHAT SO EVER! This includes pornographic images, strongly sexual or suggestive artwork, and NC-17 rated fiction
SEVERITY: VERY HIGH, Deletion of post or thread

9) Emoticons - Emoticon abuse includes posting many of the same emoticon in a row when one would do perfectly and posting emoticons that have nothing to do with the post.
SEVERITY: Low, Post edited if excessive.

10) Plagerism -
10.1) Do not post anybody else's fanwork, or anything edited from anybody else's fanwork, without appropriate credit to the original creator, or, if the creator has specific terms of use, abiding by them.
SEVERITY: HIGH, Attention is brought to theft, Demands compliance to Terms of Use

11) Member Polls -
11.1) Do not make polls, competitions, or other threads that involve opinions of a specific member. This includes yourself.
11.2) A moderator may approve of such a poll if they see fit.
SEVERITY: N/A, Thread is locked

12) Spoilers -
12.1) Do not spoil endings or plot of books, fan fics, comics, games, movies, ect. without giving an appropriate warning.
12.2) This includes spoiling how to get around any sort of games or tweaks of the Pokemon Enasu Forums.
SEVERITY: Low, Removal of spoiler

13) Signatures - (This rule has been copied directly from The Cave of Dragonflies forums)
13.1) Do not place music or anything else that will disrupt other members' forum browsing in your signature.
13.2) Do not use excessive unnecessary image stacking. Place small images side by side with spaces between them rather than putting one in each line.
13.3) 300 pixels of stacked images in your sig are enough. That means that horizontally, your signature's images should not be taller than this image:
(Posted Image)
Additionally, if your signature's images are over 200 pixels tall, you are not allowed to place any text below or above it; only beside it.
13.4) Do not place excessively horizontally large images in your signature. Keep them under roughly 550 pixels wide so they will not stretch the page on 800x600 resolution.
13.5) Do not put Flash animations or very large images filesize-wise in your signature. This includes most .bmp images.
13.6) The textual part of a signature should be no larger than the following placeholder text if the signature does not contain any images of over 100 pixels in height:

.... ................ ......... .... .......... ..... ......... ................ ......... ........... ...... ............. ....... ......
......... ....... .............. .............. ......... .......... ......... ........ ......... .... ......... .............. .........
.......... ............. ............ .............. ........... ............... ............. ........ ........ . . ...... ...... .. .....
.... ............. ......... ......... .............. ......... ....... ........ ....... ....... .. .......... .... ............ ..........
............ .............. ............... .................. .............. .......... ........ ........... ....... ........ ........
....... ........... ......... ........ .... ......... ................ ......... ........ ............... ........ .......... ...........
............. ....... ............ ......... .... ............. ........... ....... ........ ....... ........... ............... ........
.... ..... ...... .... ..... ..... ..... .... .......... ........ ... ........ ...... ...... ... ..... ..... .... ........... ..... ........ .....
......... ......... ....... ..... ..... ........ ..... ........ ...... ............ ....... ........ ..... .... ............ ...... ...... ...
..... ........ ........... ..... .........

If the signature's images are between 100 and 200 pixels tall, it may only be as tall as the following paragraph:

...... ........ ................ ....... ......... .... .......... ..... ........ ...... .......... ........ ....... ...... .......... .....
....... .............. ........... ...... ............... ......... ..... ........ ......... ...... ....... ..... ......... ...... ........
........ ..................... ........... .......... ............ ........ .......... ........ ......... .......... ........ ........ ..
......... ............ ......... ........ ......... ............ ....... ...... ..... ........ ........ ..... ........ ........ .... .......
........ ......... ............ ......
SEVERITY: Very Low, Complete deletion of signature, First Offence: Copy of signature will be PMed to the offender before deletion, Future Offences: Exact same thing, except that you don't get a copy of your signature PMed to you

14) Scamming - This includes trying to sell your account, trying to steal another account, ect.
14.1) Do NOT ever scam, EVER! Doing so will result in your account being suspended for 3 months for the fist attempt, and a username ban the second attempt.
SEVERITY: 100%, If attempted on an Administrator or Moderator, then an instant Username, IP, and E-mail ban

THE WARNING SYSTEM

Here is the part where we explain the Warning System:

N/A
This means that you are not punished, but please follow the rule nonetheless

Very Low
You will recieve a 1 week warning, so that we can keep track of your offences

Low
You will recieve a verbal warning. You will recieve a 2 week warning if you repetitively break the same rule

Medium
You will recieve a 1 month warning

High
You will recieve a 3 month warning

VERY HIGH
You will be banned on sight

100%
This only applies to rule 14

Once you are at 100% Warning, you will be banned, unless you have a warning that should have been removed, but wasn't. When the set time has passed after you receive a warning without you breaking any rules during that period at all, you may PM a moderator or administrator to have it removed.

(Following taken directly from The Cave of Dragonflies Forums, with some adjustments)

Forum Guidelines

The following will help you to become a respected member of the community. Breaking them might render you unpopular among both members, moderators, and administrators.
a) At least halfway-decent spelling, grammar and punctuation are expected from all members. Chatspeak (u, 2, b, and various other shorthand commonly used in internet chatrooms) is frowned upon.
b) Follow the rules and remember them. If in doubt about whether what you are going to post is legitimate, ask a moderator or administrator.
c) Do not ask or imply that you want to be a moderator. You will be a moderator only if you show the maturity and ability to, and if anything, asking for it will decrease your chances.
d) Listen to what the moderators and administrators say, whether you choose to agree with it or not.
e) After being warned, consider yourself warned and be more careful.
f) Do not attempt to get moderators and administrators biased towards you by "sucking up" (i.e. blindly supporting or admiring them in order to cause them to like you).
g) Do not repeat what somebody else has already said.
h) Generally, posts should be longer than one sentence. Short posts are technically allowed, but of course they must all be valid contributions to the topic, and with no long posts to weigh against them, you might be warned for spam simply out of arousing suspicions that you're posting to increase your post count.
i) Despite being provided with the option of changing your name in the Name Change Thread located in the Forum Help section, please do not change your name unless you are sure that this is what you wish for your name to be.
j) If you do not thoroughly know a subject, do not pretend to.
k) Do not claim to be your brother, cousin or friend, or tell the moderators or administrators after breaking a rule that your brother, cousin or friend got into your account and was the one who broke the rule rather than you. You will not be believed and generally the philosophy here is that if your account is not safe from troublemaking relatives or acquintances, we will be forced to ban it if they get into your account three times. We therefore recommend that you make sure to log out of your account and have a secure password before your brother, cousin or friend gets you in trouble.

Ban

Once you are banned, it is generally permanent. If we consider ourselves to have solid evidence that you have matured and will not cause more trouble, however, you may be let back, but this has no chance of happening unless we've been able to watch you for quite a while.

The moderators and administrators may decide to ban a member who seems to subtract from the community more than add to it, even if said member has not actually broken any rules. If a member repeatedly turns out as the cause of flame wars and other disruptions even after being warned to try to change whatever is causing this, we will have no choice but to ban said member.

Validation

After reading and fully understanding these forum rules, go to the Greetings forum and make a new topic. There you should politely request to have your account validated and state that you have read and understood the rules. Your account will then be validated and you will gain access to the rest of the forums. You will NOT get an e-mail to validate your account.

Now, from the Pokemon Enasu Forums to you: Enjoy you stay here at Enasu, a place of wonder and mystery!
